About the Volunteer-in-Training Program
This is a special opportunity for older, experienced campers who show a high level of maturity and commitment to the mission of Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls Los Angeles. It is geared towards those who want to get more involved behind the scenes at camp, develop leadership skills, and transition into becoming a RCGLA volunteer or organizer in the future!
The Volunteer-In-Training Program is for former campers ages 17 – 18.
The V.I.T. role will be tailored to the individual. We will come up with expectations and agreements together. The program focuses on three areas: Mentorship, Leadership, and Technical.
Activities may include:
Assisting instructors during instrument instruction.
Helping coach a band.
Participating in morning and afternoon assembly: camp theme song, yogaerobics, skit-time players, highlights.
Moving equipment and learning about audio engineering.
Working closely with the Music Video Program.
Interviewing the lunchtime performer.
Interacting with campers and being a positive role model for them.
Helping to maintaining a tidy, functional, and inspiring camp environment.
Volunteers-In-Training do not pay tuition.
We will provide Volunteers-In-Training with a light breakfast, hearty lunch, and snacks.
All Volunteers-in-Training are strongly encouraged to be up to date with the most recent COVID-19 vaccine. The latest vaccine protects against variants that are circulating currently. Previous vaccinations no longer provide protection.
